Parent Handbook
Preschool program
Times
Your child can attend preschool for up to 15 hours per week.
Sessions
Group 1
Monday and Tuesday
8:15am – 3.00pm
Friday
8.15am -11.15am
Weeks 1, 3, 5,7, 9
Group 2
Wednesday and Thursday
8:15am – 3.00pm

Preschool program cost
The parent contribution is $155 per term. See our enrolment and fees page for more information.
What to bring
Children need to bring these items each day:
- an easily identifiable bag, preferably a backpack that is easy for your child to open and close
- a piece of fruit or chopped vegetables for every session
- drink bottle with water only
- a legionnaire or broad-brimmed hat
- spare clothes in case of mishaps
- lunchbox (with cold pack, if staying for lunch care session)
- appropriate clothing and footwear that is easy for your child to manage, especially when toileting (staff will assist with mishaps).
Please write your child’s name on all their belongings.
Kindy hats are available for $15.
Polo top $16.
Hoodie $38.
What not to bring
Children should not bring these things:
- food containing nuts or egg (some children have allergies that can be dangerous)
- unhealthy food or drink (lollies, chocolate, chips, fizzy drinks)
- toys (teddies, jewellery).
Playgroup
Our playgroup allows you and your child to meet other families to learn, play and explore together, building relationships and a sense of community.
Times
Friday 11.00am to 12.30pm (weeks 1,3,5,7,9)
Cost
This program costs $3 per family each session.

Additional information
Playgroup is for all children aged up to 5. All children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.
OSHC
Our aim is to provide quality care and recreational activities for children from Pre School to Year 7, in a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment.
We believe in supporting the well-being of each and every child and working together with our families. Everyone who enters our Service is welcomed and valued as an individual. We believe in encouraging children to develop a healthy self-image through social interactions, which involve co-operation, conflict resolution & relationship building.
We value and promote outdoor play in our Service.
We respect each child and his/her family needs and believe in promoting respect for all people by recognising and celebrating the similarities and differences, diverse backgrounds and abilities of everyone in our community.
The Hallett Cove East OSHC/Vacation Care Service operates within all Regulatory and Legislative requirements including the National Quality Framework and the My Time, Our Place Frameworks and ensures that all experiences offered to the children in our care meet these outcomes and guidelines.
We are a Sun Smart and Allergy Aware service.
